IS MY DOG SUITABLE FOR HOME BOARDING AT DIGBY'S?We are not a kennels and your dog will be living in our home, with our own very friendly dog, and our visiting human friends from time to time.
Not all dogs are suitable for boarding in this home environment so we are, therefore, not able to take dogs who are aggressive, destructive or have any other behavioural issues. Dogs who are prone to regular or prolonged barking may also not be suitable. If your dog whines or barks excessively we may suggest that alternative accommodation be sought for their next holiday. They will need to be socialised, house-trained and of good temperament. We are not able to accommodate un-neutered males and bitches who are, or are expected to be, on heat during their stay. |
Before a booking is confirmed you will be invited for a 'Sniffing In' to make sure your dog will be happy to stay with us here.
For stays of 3 days or longer we do ask you to book your dog in for a short, overnight or weekend stay, to make sure they will be happy here with us. |
BOARDING £35 PER DAY This includes the day your dog arrives regardless of time of arrival.
The day of departure is not charged for providing you collect before 10am. After that time another day rate will be applied. Stays after 6.30pm will be charged as per the overnight rate. Pick-up and drop-off times will be arranged at the time of booking. Early drop-off by arrangement. |

VACCINATIONS
Your dog should always have its annual vaccinations kept up to date. They will also need to have been wormed and treated for fleas and ticks. All dogs must have had annual vaccinations against Kennel Cough. This vaccine must have been administered at least 10 days prior to your dog's stay.
PLEASE BRING VACCINATION CERTIFICATES WITH YOU. We are obliged by the council to keep an up-to-date photographic record of all vaccinations.

WHAT TO BRINGFor all stays please bring your dog's usual food and proof of vaccination.
We provide everything else they need for their stay. We would prefer it if you did NOT bring your dog's bed. This is for hygiene reasons, as well as to avoid possessive behaviour, as we do find that most dogs always prefer someone else's! The same applies to favourite toys and teddies however, if your dog sleeps in a crate at night then their own blankets and toys can be put in at night for their use only. Medications can be given but please discuss this with us at the time of enquiry. If your dog needs extra medical care e.g injections or special meal preparations, this may incur an additional charge. |
SAFETY
During their stay all dogs wear our own collar and security tag.
Please do not bring children to either the 'sniffing in' or when you drop off or collect you dog. We do not allow children onto the premises when we have guest dogs.
If your dog causes damage you will be expected to reimburse us for any damage done.
In the event of your dog exhibiting aggressive, uncontrollable or negative behaviour towards either us or other dogs we will place your dog at a local kennels known to us. This also applies to persistent, prolonged or regular barking. We will, of course, discuss any issues with you and notify you of any actions taken. You will then be responsible for any fees incurred. We will charge a transfer fee of £20.00 if we do decide that a kennel environment is better suited to your dog.
